Writing Play

If you are like me one of the hardest things is to come up with ideas to help children with letter recognition in new and fun ways. These are some of my favorite things that the children love but is also very cheap!

Check out the road letters- perfect for the little boys! click HERE for free printable's!

This is a fun writing activity and game.  Write a letter, name, number, etc. with a white crayon on to the white paper.  Use water colors and a paint brushes to find the hidden message!

Who doesn't love file folder games? I found these and lots of other ones with free printable here:

Here is another idea.  All I did was cut out squares of paper, wrote a letter on them and then traced the letter with hot glue so that the children can feel and see  the letters.  I have also seen this with sandpaper letters or foam letters.

Letter match ups upper case and lower case. These cute ice cream cones are really easy to make but also functional.  I also added a ice cream sundae bowl to make words I found these here:

Another idea I love but have not made yet is letters cut out of black paper.  Make the letters into roads by making yellow dotted lines down the letter.  The children can use cars to trace the letters, how fun is that?!
